Cathean Ltd was started by Kathryn’s husband Ian as a project management consultancy, serving the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Tragically, in February 2008, Ian was diagnosed with a high grade brain tumour and died that April. The business lay dormant as Kathryn continued working for GlaxoSmithKline and tried to re-build her life.
With the help of life coach Kevin Watson, Kathryn decided to follow her dreams and her passion for writing. In 2010, she made the leap into freelancing and re-branded Cathean Ltd as a medical writing consultancy. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength attracting a fabulous clientele who enjoy the experience of working with Cathean.
Cathean Ltd is proud to sponsor the Ian White Memorial Trophy, initiated by Kathryn in memory of Ian. The trophy event is held annually at the Smith’s Lawn horse trials which take place in Windsor Great Park. The event celebrates Ian’s love of eventing and supports amateur riders. Kathryn has also set up The Ian White Fund, which raises money for The Brain Tumour Charity through fundraising events. Donations can be made at the Just Giving website.
